Environmental Air Engineer (Industrial Manufacturing)

Our client, located in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, has an immediate need to fill the position of Environmental Air Engineer (Industrial Manufacturing).

Job Description
This Environmental Air Engineer is responsible for managing, and carrying out the Mill's air quality compliance program. The incumbent must perform in a manner that will ensure the facility is in compliance with all State and Federal environmental laws, regulations, permit requirements and corporate policies. This includes determining applicability and obtaining air permits for the facility, in support of process changes and growth opportunities. Other responsibilities include working with mill operations on activities to improve mill environmental performance and reduce costs.

Duties and Responsibilities
o Promote a safe work environment.

o Manage recordkeeping and reporting activities required to comply with Federal and State environmental requirements, mill permit requirements and corporate policies, and meet all reporting deadlines.
o Maintain data and calculations to understand mill emissions, to complete regulatory submittals and support strategic decisions and evaluations of emerging regulations.
o Coordinate stack testing activities to perform compliance tests and engineering studies, as required.
o Oversee programs for continuous emission monitors to ensure proper QA/QC protocols are observed and reporting complies with State and Federal requirements.
o Work with mill operations and engineering departments to review projects for air permit applicability, prepare permit applications and obtain necessary air permits.
o Interact with contractors and consultants, when needed, for stack testing and on complex permitting activities.
o Interact with regulatory agencies in obtaining air permits and in routine report submittal and follow-up.
o Provide mill technical support for environmental performance, regulatory compliance, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
o Enforce adherence to safe work practices, good housekeeping, follow-up and correction of unsafe acts and conditions, participate in departmental safety programs and meetings.

o Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sngineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
o Minimum of seven (7) years of environmental experience. Must have air regulation knowledge and experience.
o Work experience in a manufacturing setting.
